Today was a crazy day at work. When I walked through the door the secretary stopped me and told me that the kids were being awful and that she prays they are better for me than they have been for the other teachers. Great, thanks for the warning. So I walk into my class and the teacher that I take over for barely has a voice and the other teacher looked worn out. She told me that she pretty much screamed at the kids all morning while at the zoo, one of the little girls got hurt because she stuck her head through the bars of the bear cage, and another boy had a huge temper tantrum; and I quote "this has been the worst field trip in the twenty years I have worked here!" So this is what I have to walk into when I got to work. Luckily I texted someone and told them to pray. They weren't perfect angels but they weren't that bad either. Later in the day we came in from being outside for a couple of hours and did a chalk project. I was sitting at one of the tables when I looked across and seen a certain type of look on this little boys face (he is so cute and has the cutest pouty face) This particular boy likes to eat things like dirt, lick rocks, eat things off the floor, ect. I should have kept an eye on him but I turned my head and when I looked over again he was crouched down, with dark blue on the corners of his mouth. Yep, he was eating chalk!! I kind of started laughing, but tried to hold it in, asked him to come over and had him spit it out in my hand. I asked him why he was eating the chalk, and he said "because it tastes good." I told him to go get a long nice drink and not to eat the chalk anymore. It was pretty funny. I do have to say I like the unpredictable-ness (not sure if that's a word) of my work ;)

At least the kid had a good philosophy of why to eat the chalk. Don't eat it if it don't taste good.
maybe that kid has pica...
i knew a girl in college that ate chalk like candy...
I have to tell you about my crazy day at work soon. You wont believe it. I am not sure that I totally believe it yet either. Hint...it has to do with fire. Scary I know. I will have to post it soon.
