a little bit of news

most of you know that i have a job now!! after months of trying to find one, i was hired at Head Start, which is a pre-school and an early intervention program for low income families. I remember a few months ago (after a horrible interview at one of the more wealthier schools in town) that i didn't want to work with "rich" kids, but wanted to work with kids that would not have it so well...and here i am. I had a few meetings last week in the ISU sub and it was so crazy not to be a student there, but to be employed and at meetings...weird. I have my own classroom and my own full time TA. she is hilarious! the other day we were doing home-visits (we go to their homes to discuss the program and their responsibilities-it's hard because most of these home are not decent enough for children to live in) and we walked a little ways because we parked and decided to walk the block to find the house. after the visit we left and were talking. she starts walking towards a suburban and begins to open the door and get in. i whispered and told her that wasn't our car. she freaked out and we started running towards my car. it was so funny. she is great. overall i think it is going to be a challenging year, but worth it. i already feel like God is up to something...we will see where He takes me ;)
